The positive effects of microneedling can often only be seen after a few weeks up to half a year - often after several treatments. For acne scars, an average of about ten sessions are recommended, for wrinkles and as an anti-aging treatment about six treatments at intervals of two weeks - but the recommendations naturally differ from case to case or from skin to skin and are subject to the expertise of a dermatologist.

 

The rapidly growing popularity of microneedling has of course a reason. With most other treatment methods for skin problems the skin becomes thinner, e.g. laser treatment. This was already proven in 2008 by an empirical study of the US National Library of Medicine. Thinner skin, however, reacts more sensitively to external influences, such as the sun, by making unsightly spots or disorders visible on the skin. As a non-ablative procedure, Micro Needling maintains the thickness of the skin and does not remove it. The protection against external environmental influences therefore remains unchanged.  A great advantage of the Micro Needling treatment compared to other methods. Furthermore, no artificial substances have to be injected. Due to the small needles the skin changes and refreshes itself.
